They do an excellent job of protecting the delicate metal sill plates and surrounding plastic parts. I am very careful getting into and out of the car, and there are already a number of scratches in these that would have instead been in the door sills themselves. I take them off before I wash the car and put them back on after I dry the door sills. They are easy to get on and off. I am very pleased with them.
