Not worth the risk, can’t be rebuilt Because replacing the Optispark is such an ordeal, I decided to remove the distributor cap and check the quality of the components before installation. I noticed that the metal optical disc was warped and, upon rotating it manually, it scraped against the optical sensor. I thought about rebuilding it, but none of the components can be replaced – instead of using removable fasteners, the component parts are riveted in. I ultimately decided to return this distributor rather than risk it not…
It works. WooooHoooo Iv done a couple hot laps, and got a little side ways. It pers at 3 grand so far seems to be a qualiy opti, time will tell. But a’s of now i am pleasantly surprised. No missing no hesitation proper idle. Thank you A-team
Donât do it !! Installed distributor on my 94 Corvette. Car started but popped back when you accelerated. Distributor was not communicating with the computer. Installed another brand distributor and no problem. Problem is I had to pay $350 again to get second one installed because you have to remove the harmonic balancer and water pump. This is junk!!
