Good quality lighting for decent price,
Came shipped in a “brief case.” Honestly don’t know what the function of this is, it’s not like I will be traveling with my HIDs regularly at my side. It was appreciated nonetheless, though the packaging inside was a moderately disheveled (don’t really care though, as long as everything works).
Installation: Most difficulties in installation arose because of some modifications that had to be done for my own vehicle’s application. The kit itself seemed of good quality with good solid connections and wires. One point to mention is that one of the connections were actually attached to the wire BACKWARDS, so I had to flip the connector 180 degrees for the kit to work. Thank goodness the connectors still attached upside down. I wrapped with good quality electric tape just to ensure a secure attachment. Other than that, installation was quite easy and straight forward for someone who installed an HID the first time.
Performance: The kit emits solid, bright light with no flickering so far. Been using two weeks to date. Upon initial start up the light looks bluish (like 8000K) then whitens throughout the warm up period, which takes roughly 30-45 seconds? My only complaint is that for a 4300K the color seems closer to a 5000K. I would like something slightly “off-white” like 4300K implies. This probably reveals some variations in different manufacturer’s color temps ie one HID company’s 5000K may have a slightly different color than another HID company’s 5000K.
UPDATE: 01/25/2014
It’s been around a month since I’ve had these installed, and now I’m noticing a SLIGHT color temperature difference between the bulbs. One bulb is now closer to 4300K, while the other had stayed around what 5000K should look like (see above comments). I don’t know if these means that there is a “break in” period on these bulbs, or that quality control is not up to par, but will update again in another month or so to see if the colors even out. Again, it is a slight color difference between enough for me to notice while driving and seeing the reflections on other cars bumpers.

I decided to contact Kensun through Amazon about the bulb color difference (see update above). Their representative answered promptly and courteously, and with no further questions other than my original message, shipped me a new pair of bulbs a day after his reply! I have had the second pair of bulbs installed now for about a week, and there is little to no color temperature difference now. I have no basis for quantifying the bulb’s actual color temperature, but I would say they are closer to 4800K than 4300K. I am upgrading from 4 to 5 stars because I feel that if your product is not up to par, Kensun will do all they can reasonably do to satisfy you. My customer service experience with them was very entrusting.
