Decent anti-theft design… Gorilla Automotive 61641 Acorn Guard Locks (14mm x 1.50 Thread Size)Most wheel locks (lug nuts needing socket keys) can be removed by anyone without the key. For example, a friend with McGard brand wheel locks lost his “key” and was really worried about how he’d get the locks off. I jammed a standard socket over a McGard lock by lightly tapping it onto the lock with a hammer – and unscrewed the lock using a socket wrench. Took about 2 minutes per wheel lock. After that…
THEY JUST STOLE THE CAR! They worked so well the entire car was stolen. I guess that’s saying something. Go all the way and get the LOJACK on top of it, because those car thieving punks are always lurking. However…on the plus side, they were good looking, strong and elevated punks from common tire thieves to grand theft auto villains. When or if they get caught they will have a felony charge to answer to.
Seem to be secure. Mine are RUSTING after barely 6 months!!! I installed these wheel locks on my car in July 2015. Fast forward to Jan 2016. They seem to be secure and fit good, HOWEVER, all 4 are starting to rust!!?? Maybe it’s the Michigan weather? Possibly. Although, there’s quite a few reviews complaining about rust, so it seems like a design/material issue? Maybe raise the price slightly and use stainless steel or similar material?
