Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads for 427 Corvette While the OEM brake pads had outstanding performance, the brake dust was out of control. I had the car detailed and wanted to drive it after taking a picture or two. I drove it about 5 miles around our neighborhood and by the time I got home, I could already wipe a thin layer off of my wheels. After about 10 miles, I could do the same with the body behind the front wheels. It was also time to give the front a good cleaning.
