New CAGS (Computer Aided Gear Selector) disable kit. This skip shift eliminator plugs inline with your engine harness at the transmissions skip shift solenoid to disable the skip-shift feature of your transmission. The skip shift is the annoying 1 to 4 shift that forces the shifter to move into 4th gear instead of 2nd when shifting at slow speeds. This stops the shifter from moving on it’s own. This will not cause a SES (Service Engine Soon) light or CEL (Check Engine Light), but the CAGS SHIFT 1-4 light will still light on the dash as normal when the computer deems the shift is necessary. Harness is manufactured using the same quality TXL wiring and connectors as OEM. Great value for a must have item. Couldn’t wait to install this product on my C5 Corvette. Works perfectly. No more wondering if I am going to be shifting into second or fourth gear. while it does work great, I had to shave a little bit of … I installed this on my 96 Corvette and, while it does work great, I had to shave a little bit of plastic off of the white connector to get it to clip in. Kind of hard to explain but the end of the kit’s connector is like two big C shapes and the connector on my transmission was a big C and a little c shape. Solves the 1st to 4th forced shift pattern. Bought it for my 2016 Chevy SS as the 1st to 4th set up was extremely annoying and actually quite dangerous if you needed to excellerate quickly after the shift. Had the Muzzy SLP installed by my Chevy dealer for about $30. Simple installation. Works great. Car shifts 1st to 2nd every time now as you would want it to. Highly recommended fix!!
