One bulb worked for 3 months while the OEM worked for 7 years. I installed 6 of these bulbs replacing all lights on the butt of my 2011 Mini Cooper, which has one brake light failed after almost 7 years since I bought the car new. So this time I figure I should replace all them albeit only one blown off. After 3 months, one of these âdouble lifetimeâ bulbs blown off. I was glad I bought 2 extra in advance. So I would rather recommend all buyers do the same and keep a couple extra just in case.
Philips 7443 One bulb burnt out after a week or so that’s when I noticed that the other bulb got so hot it melted the inside of the light housing. I tested the working bulb and noticed it reached over 300 degrees. Something that generates that much heat should be no where near plastic parts. Very poor customer service.
Ran very hot I replaced an OEM Sylvania 4157NAK with this bulb (front turn signal / running lights on 2008 Tundra). After a few weeks, I noticed it looked yellow/white instead of amber. I checked it and found it was running so hot that it had begun to melt the base of the bulb and apparently burned off most of the amber color. Now…it could be there’s something wrong with my truck or perhaps I need the “K” (krypton) version. I swapped this Phillips product for an Eiko 4157NAK…I’ll post back if I have…
