   I was skeptical, but these PIAA H9s do indeed put out more light and brighter white than other available “super white” bulbs. I have been using Sylvania Silverstar bulbs for my 2004 Silverado SS for years, as the best bulbs I could find that would hold together without exploding and ruining the plastic headlamp enclosures, but Silverstar bulbs are not available in H9 size for my C6 Corvette Z06. I hooked up both the PIAA H9s and then a Sylvania Silverstar 9006 bulb to a bench test power supply and the PIAAs are indeed brighter, Watt-per-Watt. I also compared to a no-name “Superwhite” H9 bulb pair that I had bought for $25, and the PIAA wins easily. The PIAA H9 bulb also matches my HID low beam color much better. I just hope that they hold up as my past experience with high-output halogens is that they fail sooner. High Beam bulbs should be a low risk, as most people do not leave them on all of the time. So far so good, and I would recommend.

   I have these in my IPF 900XS spotlights and they dont necessarily shine any further, but a whiter, cleaner, slightly brighter light.
