It used to be a major operation to open a late model hood if the cable breaks. Now all you need to do is open the driver’s door, insert this tool at the hinge area, twist, and up pops the hood. Works! My passenger side latch was stuck and I am convinced this tool prevented a costly disassembly if done otherwise. The problem is you operate in the blind. The KEY is to find another C4 corvette and practice while visualizing the mechanism. I saw one on a used car lot and the salesman obliged me. Very shortly after it was opened!Then wire the latches in case it happens in the future. I used picture hanger wire which works beautifully and costs almost nothing.
If your hood is stuck… Don’t cuss, pony up and get this tool. Then install wire emergency pulls on your hook latches, just in case.I’m just say’in.
