The GM splash guards do NOT cover enough of the side paneling of the Corvette. Even more so with Stingrays that are fitted with side rockers. GM splash guards leave the front leading edge of the rocker exposed and vulnerable to erosion. Our splash guards are 15mm longer and 30% wider than the GM splash guards; thus, the side paneling and brake scoop are protected from rocks flinging towards them. For the Z06, we designed the splash guards to curve, which offers more protection to the rear scoop. In combination with our side rockers, rock chipping can be drastically reduced. The ACS splash guards are injected in an ABS-PC black plastic texture. Meticulously designed to match the current trim pieces on the C7, and Z06 front fender extensions or the rear GM splash guards. Therefore, if customers already have them, then they need only to upgrade the front. ACS enhanced splash guards are installed within 30 minutes! Mudflaps are fastened using 3 screws already located on your car. These are currently used to fasten the wheel liner to the fender flange. The mechanical fasteners were selected for its tighter pull to the wheel liner compared to the OEM pressure clip. The tight fit ensures no pebbles can infiltrate between the two, which will otherwise lead to audible rattling. Our enhanced splash guards are beautifully styled to match the sleek contoured design of the C7. The injected black ABS components not only match GM rear guards but also look the business! - HIGH GRADE MANUFACTURING: Made in ABS-PC injection for a long-lasting protection part that will protect your car from rock chips. Due to its composition, when rocks hit the splash guard the resulting chips in the splash guard remain black, as the material is injected throughout, and not only the surface. Other components will chip and show their underlying construction, which become an eye-sore over time.
- PROTECTION IS KEY: Protect your C7 from the dreaded rock chipping that occurs while driving. The massive performance tires on the C7 are incredibly sticky and as a result will launch rocks and other road debris towards the rear and side paneling of the C7. Thus, the rocks will wear at your paint and slowly degrade the value of the car. Installing the ACS mud guards will catch several of the debris and negate it from being propelled backwards.
- EASY INSTALLATION: The splash guards can be installed within 30 minutes, so you can quickly get back on the road and not worry about the rocks hitting your car. The fronts are installed with the 3 pre-existing SEM screws holding the wheel liner, while the rear GM flaps will simply clip into the 3 locating slots on the rear wheel well. No drilling is required.
- CARBON FLASH METALLIC BLACK: These splash guards are painted on the outside flange a Carbon Flash Metallic black paint, which matches the other carbon flash black pieces found on the C7. These include the hood vent, fender insert, rear diffuser, and front grill.
- WHY BIGGER FRONTS BUT NOT REAR? The ACS fronts are 30% larger than the GM fronts. The reasoning is because the road debris is morethreatening from the front than it is the rear. Thus, a re-design was not needed for the rears.
Worth the money! Packaging was excellent, instructions are excellent, fit and finish are excellent! Not cheap, but good value! No real experience yet as to actual rock/chip protection, that’ll take a year or so.
