I figured brighter is better. As it is I selected this red 921 bulb because another reviewer said they bought the amber and it was almost too bright to look at. Impressively bright for their size I ordered these for my 2012 VW GTI. Taillights are controlled by DC pulse width modulation at 150Hz, so these emit a faint buzz when on.Installation was simple.
