You get what you pay for. The Projectors are glue sealed and cannot be opened by hand. I am sure that if you wanted to open then a heat gun would be perfect. The cut off is not very smooth because the projectors themselves are small. They will cut off but it curves upward towards the sides. Make sure you look into the lense to tell which direction is top/bottom. The lense come with imprints that will projector the worlds “TOP” and “ECE”. I don’t want to think about it, but the projectors are cheap…
