Perfect upgrade over stock! These lights are direct plug in with no modifications to the stock housing and have clearance between the fans and the radiator core support when installed on a 2011 Silverado. You do have to adjust the beam down quite a bit to prevent blinding oncoming vehicles, it takes 2 minutes and a Phillips screwdriver so donât be a douche. Pull up to a wall 15â to 20â away after dark and turn the adjustment screw on your housing down so the beam is about level with or below your hood on larger trucks.
They’re excellent, but not for my application – 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 Sport 4Matic w/ halogen reflector-style headlight units The quality of these are excellent – easily the best LED headlight bulbs I’ve seen. And they’re super bright, far exceeding the factory halogen bulbs in my Mercedes (see photo). HOWEVER, my headlights are the standard halogen/reflective-mirror type and the bulbs are so bright that there’s no way to use them at night without blinding oncoming traffic, even after adjusting them downward as far as the headlight adjuster will allow (see other photo). Great lights, great brand! These things are nice! After upgrading most of the lights on my rig to led, I decided it would be a good time to upgrade my headlights. I picked up a set of Spec-D 7×6 square headlight housings for my 1997 Tacoma (which I have had for about a year and they are rock-on), and a few days ago ordered a set of these leds.
