Borla 12649 Stainless Steel Rear Section Exhaust System

A Borla “Axle Back” or rear section exhaust implies the exhaust system is located behind the vehicle rear axle . Most installations are completed in less than an hour and require no cutting of the factory system. A Borla Axle Back performance exhaust is a less restrictive aftermarket exhaust system that will improve the sound level both inside the cabin and exterior. Borla Axle Back exhaust systems use engine-specific (not universal) mufflers that are designed, tested, and optimized specifically for a particular year/make/model vehicle.

  1. This is what a Corvette should sound like Length:: 0:14 Mins Love this exhaust! It is 100% not for somebody who is looking for a mild sound. It is straight pipes, and sounds like it. My exhaust is otherwise stock and this made it sound amazing. If you have headers and an x-pipe, expect it to be even louder. I don’t think it is too loud, personally. At low RPM, it is a beautiful grumble. At WOT it is a monster. The video only shows a 4k rev. Some highway drone, but seriously less than expected for what it is…

  2. Great exhaust. Missing hardware. Get an X pipe. I ordered the rear section exhaust for my 2001 Z06. The seller, or whoever, did not send brackets for the install or nuts and bolts. Unless you have a Z06 you will probably have to have custom brackets made for your base c5. For the Z’s, there at sway bar has to be unbolted in order to remove the stock exhaust. This may seem like a hass but it’ll help because you’ll need to bolt the exhaust brackets there anyway. The install was simple and straight forward. If you don’t want to sound like a…

  3. Very loud. I love how much louder this is over stock exhaust, but it honestly might be a little too loud. After a week or so you get used to it but at highway cruising 70+ the drone is annoying. For city driving I get nothing but smiles and compliments as long as I am not driving like a total jerk :)Install was annoying because of a lack of instructions. This kit goes on at the rear sway bars instead of the stock mounting location. The mounting hangars were only slotted for z06 cars…
