DiabloSport Trinity Dashboard Tune and Diagnostic Tools facilitate high speed USB connectivity, manage diagnostic trouble codes and incorporate real time data monitoring with advanced logging capabilities for delivery of data output to your PC or SD card. They include a 100MB of on board memory to preview PID or DMR data, two channel analog inputs for connecting external sensors and a high resolution color touch screen. These tools feature individual user customization and are user friendly as well as easily adjustable.

Performance Programmer

The Trinity’s tuning options vary depending on the vehicle that is being tuned. Gasoline-powered vehicles feature tunes based on minimum octane ratings while diesels are based on horsepower rating of the particular tune. No other single part number can tune Ford, GM, and Chrysler vehicles and support gasoline and diesel vehicles for all three.

Note: The available tunes and adjustment options may not be the same in all models.

Diesel Tuning

For all of the supported diesel applications, the Trinity will come preloaded with at least three tuning levels to optimize your truck for its intended use.

Towing: Will improve power by 40-60 HP and an average of 100 Ft/Lbs of torque (depending on application) and is for use when towing heavy loads near the vehicle’s factory towing capacity. This setting is designed to increase drivability while towing, net extra economy when cruising at highway speeds, and is helpful when pulling a load up a steep grade.

Economy*: Adds between 60-100 HP and 180-200 Ft/Lbs of Torque, with economy gains averaging 2-3 MPG on the highway. This setting is not designed for heavy towing–limits are in the range of 6,000-8,000 pounds depending on your vehicle’s stock towing capacity.

Extreme*: This tune adds anywhere from 100- 185 horsepower and 220+ Ft/Lbs. of torque and is specifically for tearing it up at the strip.

*For these tunes, DiabloSport highly recommends the use of an aftermarket cold-air intake (CAI) and upgraded exhaust with a minimum of 4” diameter pipe.

Gas Tuning

For all supported applications, the Trinity comes preloaded with tunes for premium (91 or 93) octane fuel that will increase power levels at the rear wheels by 15-40 horsepower in most applications, with similar gains in torque. For many of the supported cars and trucks, 87 Octane Performance tunes are also available, as well as DiabloSport’s 87 Octane Mileage Booster tune for late-model GM and Chryslers.

For some applications, there are also specialty tunes for certain upgrades such as cold-air kits, MAF sensor upgrades, or even pulley-upgrade tunes for factory-supercharged vehicles. The advertised horsepower gains are with vehicles in their factory configuration (unless otherwise noted), but the Trinity can also be loaded with up to 5 custom tunes to support just about any modification imaginable. The Trinity is the only tuning device you will ever need for your car or truck.

The available adjustable parameters menu can vary by vehicle, but for most gasoline applications the Trinity can adjust:

  • Spark Advance/Retard (in multiple RPM bands, or “globally” across the whole range)
  • Fuel Tables/WOT fuel (also in multiple RPM bands, or “globally” across the whole range)
  • Cooling Fan control by temperature
  • Idle RPM
  • Mass Air Table (Ford)
  • Raise Rev Limiter
  • Raise Speed limiter
  • Shift Points by RPM/MPH
  • Shift Pressure
Virtual Gauge Monitor/Data Logging

The Trinity interprets streaming data received from the OBD-II Diagnostic port on your vehicle and converts it into a readable format: a Virtual Gauge. The graphic gauge display can be customized by the user with numerous gauge styles and page backgrounds. There are hundreds of possibilities.

Programmable LED Shift Light/Warning Light

The Trinity’s LED warning lights can be configured to act as a visual gauge alarm for any individual piece of data, or even as a programmable shift light.

Analog Input

The Trinity can even log and display information that your vehicle’s ECU isn’t set up to monitor. The T-1000 is fitted with inputs for two auxiliary sensors to log and display even more useful information. Some of the choices could include wideband O2, EGT (see related products section for our kit), boost pressure, etc. The Analog input can also be used to control an Extreme PowerPuck directly through the Trinity’s touchscreen.

Diagnostic Code Reader

Trinity can also be used as a diagnostic code reader. You can save hundreds of dollars each year by reading/clearing your own computer codes rather than paying a dealer to do the same. This function can be used to pull all engine-related trouble codes.

Automatic Online Updates

The latest revisions to the DS Downloader program have made updating a Trinity as simple as possible. With the Trinity, the update procedure is a simple matter of downloading and installing the current version of the free DS Downloader program from our site and plugging in the Trinity. Once connected, you enter your information to register the tool, and the DS Downloader takes care of the rest automatically.

    Overall the product is pretty nice, but a little overpriced. As a relative novice to the whole tuning thing there is something I wish I knew before purchasing. This device does not have any transmission tuning capability, just engine. So I can swap and store a few different programs for the engine, but nothing for the transmission. Still nice, but for the money it should be a stand alone device. Now I have to go and get ANOTHER device that has TCM capability.

    I used the Trinity on my Dodge Challenger R/T and am extremely happy with it. I wish the actual body on the Trinity were a little nicer, as I am planning a permanent install in my vehicle for data logging purposes. That aside, it provided a significant power improvement and performs great with the data logging. Use was quite easy once I figured it out…

    In a nutshell, this thing rocks.

    There is so much going on with this computer, I can’t even begin to write about all of it. But here are a few things you should know….

    Before you connect it to your vehicle. Make sure you register your computer with DiabloSports website. Then make sure to get all the updates and anything else needed downloaded. I was dumb and did the opposite. It did no harm or anything. Just that when I went to update it, the site said to re install the vehicles factory settings first. Then it would update the computer. (factory settings are logged into the computer when you install a new tune parameter)

    Right out of the package, it had a setting for 91 octane while using a K&N air intake. That is what I am currently using. What a huge difference in performance. Even my new flowmaster’s sound throatier. It takes about 7 mins of installing the tune through a supplied OBDII cable. You can even tweak Diablo’s pre installed tunes, or create your own custom tunes. Changing timing, spark, fuel/oxygen and such….

    The touch screen is not the best. It’s not like using a Iphone or Android touchscreen. I guess I’m trying to say it’s not the best at sensitivity. But the side buttons will also navigate you in the same way. With directional arrow buttons and the center acting as the “Enter” button. People have complained about not being able to see the screen in direct sunlight….well duh. I installed mine down next to the steering colum , so as not to be seen by the passing folks living on my street. No need to flaunt it or invite temptation. Besides, I’m not doing anything with it when I’m driving.

    There are a bunch of other cool features, like the Race Track mode. Where it will time you in your 1/4 and 1 mile or 60 and 100 MPH time sets. You can even hook it up to other external sensors as well as Diablo products. I think you can even use it as an extra camera or DVD monitor.

    When we buy our Challenger next year. You can bet I will be buying another one of these.
