Forever Black Bumper & Trim Dye Kit

Forever Black Bumper & Trim Dye Kit

FEATURED Forever Black Bumper & Trim Dye Kit

  • 4 oz. of Forever Black Cleaner Concentrate
  • 4 oz. of Forever Black dye
  • Provides coverage on an average of 4-6 vehicles.
  • No masking or tape required since the Bumper & Trim Reconditioner will only adhere to porous plastic, rubber, and vinyl.
  • Lasts up to 50 car washes.

The permanent solution to sun-faded bumpers and trim moldings. Forever Black restores a dark, black, finish on sun-faded bumpers and body moldings. This is not a cosmetic dressing. It’s an easy-to-use permanent dye. It permanently colors black plastic, rubber and vinyl with the same polymers that the manufacturers use. It is not a silicone dressing – silicone products will make plastic, vinyl and rubber appear to have regained their color but the change is temporary. Plus, silicone oils have been known to dry out the applied areas creating a bigger problem. Silicone also tends to leave a greasy residue even after buffing.

Used on 2004 Wrangler, fender flairs were very faded and discolored, really looked bad. Used the cleaner from kit as directed, bought a couple sponge brushes(2 for a buc, thanks to above review), and a small plastic cup to apply the dye. After 1st coat looked OK, after 2nd coat really looked a lot better, put on a 3rd coat and flairs look great, almost brand new. Very happy with product! Easy to use, took my time, about 1 1/2 hours for all three coats. Buy the foam brushes, it’s so much easier than using the bottle. After the foam brushes start to wear alittle you may get small air bubbles when your appling the dye, but the finish dried fine. If the dye gets on any paint or plastic lenses get it off while its wet!!! Don’t worry about smearing it on the plastic your dyeing, you can always touch it up(if dye even smears at all), just get it off your paint before it dries!! If the finish holds up like they say it will, great stuff!

I used this on the trim for my 2004 Sequoia and 1995 Avalon and both have taken dramatic turns to the best. They look really nice. Just be careful b/c the bottle is like those old school shoe polish bottles and its easy to have to much liquid come out and get all over the car. If that happens be sure and use the cleaner right away before it dries up.

Ordered this just to see, and without a lot of hope, but it actually works really well. I have a 2003 MR2 with a black plastic cover between the windshield and hood that had faded to gray as well as the vinyl roof that had a lot of spots on it. Convertible tops were never mentioned in the things it was designed to treat but as it states it works on vinyl I decided to give it a shot. Working the bottle with only a little bit of care I was able to do the roof and the plastic area without destroying the foam applicator and the results are so far amazing. I will have to follow up in a few months and see how it is still holding up, but for the initial use, and through several rains, it is a great product holding up well and I would highly recommend it.
