Key does slip. It’s only a deterrent; like a removable stereo faceplate, the wheel key isn’t best left in the car As others have noted, the key did start to slip a couple times when torquing down lugs. I wonder about this failing overtime.Like anything, this is just a deterrent. Consider where to keep the key for a moment: you need it in the car in case of a flat tire. So do you hide the key inside? Thieves bold enough to steal wheels might easily consider breaking into the vehicle to look for it. So hide it well and remember where. Fighting Thefts 4 Wheel Locks At A Time There’s been a rash of thefts of wheels from Trucks and SUVS even with stock wheels which I have so I had to get these. These thieves may be on drugs and not notice the wheel locks but I rather pay to get all Gorilla wheel locks later than have to replace entire Wheel Sets of rims , tires and lug nuts.
