On brightness, color temperature and projection,
Brightness:
These are very bright. I turned them on the first time and got out of my car, and they appeared brighter than the headlights. Not in terms of projection, just pure brightness coming from the lamp. They’re so bright, it’s borderline too bright and inconsiderate for oncoming drivers. I’ll update this review once I start getting feedback from other drivers (cursing, hi-beams, the finger, etc). Bottom line, you don’t want anything brighter than these.
Color temperature:
These lamps are 6000K, so they will be a white light with a bluish hue to them. A really good white light with very little blue is 5500K, which is close to sunlight. These lamps are a great pairing for LED headlights, and the difference between my fog lamps and headlights is indiscernible. 6000K is white with a slight blue hue. 7000K is going to look ultraviolet. 10000K is a the color of a blue sky.
Projection:
These lamps don’t project differently than the factory lights. They project further, simply because the LEDs are brighter than the factory lights, but the spill and focus of the beam remains the same. Let me explain. Projection (how far the light goes beyond the vehicle) and spill (how “tight” or “loose” the beam is) is not determined by the lamp, it’s determined by the reflector, which is the mirrored area behind the lamp. Like I said though, these LEDs will reach further since they are significantly brighter than OEM. The degree of projection won’t change from lamp to lamp as long as the reflector stays the same. These being primarily fog lamp replacements, won’t project much at all because they weren’t designed to project. They’re designed to flood the immediate lower area with light, to get under the fog layer.
Expect the same thing you had before, but brighter and whiter.
