FEATURED Lubegard 60902 Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant, 10 oz.

  • Prevents overheating, reducing elevated operating temperatures up to 40 degrees Farenheit – Optimizes total transmission performance
  • Eliminates transmission fluid foaming and oxidation and reduces wear throughout the transmission
  • Eliminates clutch chatter and torque converter shudder; Softens and modifies harsh shifts making them quicker in duration
  • Extends fluid life / Raises the thermal and oxidative stability of the fluid
  • Only protectant that increases the fluid’s ability to transfer heat / Protects new seals and permanently restores older seals to a like-new condition, without adverse side effects

LUBEGARD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) PROTECTANT is for use in all automatic transmissions and manuals requiring an ATF, including heavy duty transmissions, such as Allison. Use with all synthetic or mineral based DEXRON, MERCON & OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) ATF’s (except Ford Type F ATF & CVT applications). Lubegard controls heat and is especially effective in today’s hotter running front wheel drive vehicles. It contains LXE (Liquid Wax Ester) Technology and their derivatives, base oils and conventional additives. Lubegard is designed to raise the thermal and oxidative stability level of automatic transmission fluids, so when it operates at elevated temperatures, it does not thin out and pyrolize, burn or react with oxygen and form deposits. The use of LUBEGARD ATF Protectant will not cause clutch friction upset or slippage. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: For normal applications, add 1 oz. (29.6 mL) per quart (Liter) of ATF to the total transmission capacity (including torque converter) with motor idling in park. Do not overfill.

I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey. I was informed at 75,000 miles I would need a new torque converter. I was getting a lot of shuddering which is a problem with Honda Odysseys. I read on a blog that if you change the transmission fluid and use DR Tranny Instant Shudder Fix and/or Lubegard ATF Protectant, products from the same company, it would remove the shudder. The bill was going to be $1,850 so I thought a $6 bottle of Dr Tranny Instant Shudder fix was worth a try. So I had the Honda dealer replace the fluid and noticed on the drive home the shudder was greatly reduced but not eliminated. After about 10 minutes of driving I put the Dr Tranny Instant Shudder Fix in and now the shudder is nearly gone. Once in a blue moon I get a slight shudder but it is so infrequent it is an after thought. About 2 weeks later I put in the Lubegard ATF Protectant, protectant made by the same company and I called the company and they told me the fluids could be mixed, because it provides long term wear protection and also shudder removal and the transmission is operating fantastic. No problems. It has been about a month now with no problems so I am very happy. I would highly recommend all car owners and Honda Odyssey owners give this fluid a try before getting a new torque converter.

As an automatic transmission rebuilder I hesitate to recommend any additives. This is one of the few I would suggest. Many late model transmissions are electronically controlled. What I like about Lube Gard is that it treats the electronic solenoids without affecting the seals. There are products out there that swell the seals and they gradually shear off each time they are applied. Lube Gard is a very well respected product… especially at the reasonable prices you can find on Amazon.

I have a chevy Uplander with 202,000 miles on it. The vans transmission was slipping off the line and then slamming into gear. A friend told me to try something that worked for him. Put a large rare earth magnet on the tranny pan, drive for a few hundred miles, change the fluid and add one bottle of Lubeguard. Drive vehicle for a couple of thousand miles and change the fluid again and add 2 bottles of Lubeguard. I followed this and it worked. I drive 250 miles a day and have driven it for about a month now after completing all the steps and the tranny has been perfect…100% perfect so far.
