Solved the problem of directing light where I needed it. After buying another LED bulb I realized my truck’s under hood light fixture made the LED face off to the side (making the light useless). This didn’t matter with the factory incandescent bulb because that bulb throws light off 360 degrees unlike an LED which is directional. Then I found these and it solved the problem putting the LED light straight down onto my engine. I highly recommend these if this a situation you also have. Check the fixture before you buy anything. Doesn’t fit This is not a direct replacement for a #561 interior bulb.1) The little PC Board is too long to fit within the holder connectors on my ’98 Jeep. The same design probably applies to contemporary Dodge and Chrysler cars.2) The wire connectors would point the light output into the housing and not through the lens if I were able to force it in.3) Amazon is charging me return shipping on a part that is not as claimed. I’ll look for car parts at the local store.
Weakest hood light I have tried so far. Like: the twisted loop that allows for a perfect fit and properly angled light beam.Dislike: there is so LITTLE light output that I was actually able to see the 3 individual LED diodes faintly glowing.I was sure this was a defective one or that I had the +- wrong. Nope all the same. Iâve had the hood LED from corvettemods and itâs very bright but doesnât have the twisted loop. I am currently running the hood LED fromVettelights and it is twisted loop and VERY bright.
